When Your Teen Is Struggling, You Feel It Too

Anxiety that won’t let up. Shutting down instead of talking. Outbursts that come out of nowhere. Impulsive choices that scare you. Or a loss that’s changed everything. Whatever your teen is carrying, you don’t have to watch from the outside anymore — and neither do they.

I coach teens directly, giving them a space that’s theirs to build real skills: understanding what they’re feeling, developing healthier coping tools, reducing anxiety, and finding their way back to hope. And because you’re carrying this too, I coach parents alongside them — practical tools, real language, and support so you’re not walking through it alone.

This work is for teens who’ve experienced:

• Anxiety or constant worry

• ADHD, distraction, or difficulty completing tasks

• Depression, isolation, or low motivation

• Impulsive or unsafe behavior

• School avoidance

• Emotional outbursts

• A traumatic event, including loss or grief

And it’s for parents ready to:

• Understand what’s happening in their teen’s brain and behavior

• Communicate in ways that build trust instead of distance

• Set boundaries that are healthy, loving, and actually hold

You and your teen deserve real tools, not just reassurance.

About

Hi there, I am Miriam Mansour. I hold an M.D. and completed fellowship training in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. Today I work as a Teen and Parent Coach, drawing on that training to help teens build real skills and help families navigate adolescence together.

.Most teens I work with aren’t in crisis — they’re stuck. Stuck in patterns of anxiety, avoidance, shutdown, or big emotions they don’t have the tools to move through yet. My coaching gives teens a space that’s theirs: to understand what they’re feeling, build coping skills, and build the confidence and communication tools to move forward.

Parents need a different kind of support. Nobody hands you a manual for the teenage brain — the mood swings, the shutdowns, the “you don’t get it” — and without one, even great parents end up either overreacting to normal development or missing the signs that matter. My coaching translates what I learned in training into language and tools parents can use in the moment.

Together, this work helps teens and families:

• Understand what’s happening in the teen brain — and why it drives the behavior you’re seeing

• Build real coping skills for anxiety, big emotions, and hard moments

• Communicate in ways that build trust instead of distance

• Know when something may need more than coaching — and when to breathe

Who Benefits from Teen & Parent Coaching?

Coaching is for teens who don’t need a crisis to justify getting support, and for parents who don’t need to already be in therapy to get help. This may be right for your family if:

• Your teen is dealing with anxiety, low motivation, big emotions, or a hard life event, and needs somewhere to build real skills

• Conversations at home shut down before they even start

• You’re not sure if what you’re seeing is normal development or something that needs more attention

• You want practical tools and language, not just validation

• Your teen is already in therapy (or you are) and you want coaching alongside it for additional, practical support

How Coaching Can Complement — Not Replace — Therapy

Coaching and therapy serve different purposes. Therapy is a licensed clinical service focused on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, and it can mean a real wait for an appointment with a child psychiatrist or therapist.

Coaching offers something different:

• It’s often more accessible. Many teens and families need support sooner than a clinical waitlist allows.

• It’s proactive. Your teen doesn’t need a diagnosis or a crisis point to build real coping skills.

• It works with the whole family, not just the teen in isolation. Teen sessions build skills directly with your teen; parent coaching equips you to support that work at home.

• It’s practical and skills-focused. Real tools your teen and you can use right away — not months into a treatment plan.

For teens who aren’t in a clinical crisis but are still struggling — or who are already working with a therapist and want additional support building everyday skills — coaching offers practical guidance informed by medical training. It is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by a licensed provider.

Coaching is not a replacement for therapy or psychiatric care. If your teen — or you — may benefit from clinical treatment, I encourage you to seek a licensed mental health professional. For many families, coaching serves alongside that care, or as a starting point before it.
